The Salvation Army has been a trusted presence in Kitchener‑Waterloo for 140 years. We are a community where faith inspires action and people come first.

Through our church ministries and Family Care Centre, we continue to support, encourage, and uplift our neighbours every day.

Family Care Centre

We are a place of support, care, and connection for individuals and families in our community. We offer emergency assistance such as food, clothing, referrals, and connections to other social service providers, along with emotional and spiritual care for those facing challenging times.

Through early learning programs for children and supportive programs for adults and women, we seek to build community and walk alongside our neighbours at every stage of life. Rooted in our faith, we serve as an expression of God’s love, striving to be the hands and feet of Jesus as we journey together.

Office hours: Monday – Friday 9:00am – 3:30pm. Closed daily from 12:00pm – 1:00 pm and Thursdays 12 – 1:30 pm.
Note: Closed for all statutory holidays.

Christmas Kettles 2026
The Power of Two Hours What could you do with two hours this Christmas season? By volunteering for just one 2-hour Christmas Kettle shift, you can help make a difference in the lives of individuals and families right here in Kitchener and Waterloo. Every shift filled by a volunteer helps The Salvation Army Kitchener continue providing vital programs and services throughout the year, from community meals and children's programs to family supports and life-skills initiatives. Each Christmas season, our dedicated volunteers greet donors at Christmas Kettle locations across Kitchener and Waterloo. Every dollar donated stays local and helps bring hope and practical assistance to those who need it most. The 2026 Christmas Kettle Campaign begins on November 12, 2026, and we invite you to be part of something meaningful. Grab a friend, family member, coworker, or small group and sign up for a shift together. Christmas Kettles are also a great way for high school students to earn their volunteer hours Just two hours of your time can help change lives all year long.
