Family Care Centre

We offer emergency support for individuals and families, including food, clothing, referrals, and connections to other social services providers. Emotional and spiritual care is also available for those facing challenging times.

Office hours are 9 – 3:30 pm Monday – Friday.
We are closed daily from 12 – 1 pm and Thursdays 12 – 1:30 pm.

 

Food Assistance

Food assistance is offered in partnership with the Foodbank of Waterloo Region and is available once per month for individuals and families who need some extra support. Through our shopping model, individuals are able to choose the food items that best suit the needs of their families.  

Food hampers are available by appointment:

  • Monday: 1:00PM - 3:30PM
  • Tuesday-Friday: 9:00AM – 12:00PM and 1:00PM - 3:30PM

Community Meal

Each Sunday, our team of volunteers prepares and serves a warm, home cooked meal in downtown Kitchener.

Time: Sundays 12:00-1:30 PM (or until the food is gone).
Location: Downtown Kitchener, behind City Hall, College St. 

 

Share the Warmth

Providing winter coats, hats, and mittens to individuals and families in need within the Kitchener and Waterloo. 

This program is intended for individuals and families who fall on the low income cut off scale.  

Registration takes place in October. 
Distribution takes place in November for approved applicants. 


Summer Adventure Camp

The Salvation Army operates a Christian summer camp for children and youth at our Jackson’s Point Camp (located on the shores of Lake Simcoe) and Newport Adventure Camp located in the heart of Muskoka on beautiful Skeleton Lake.

Camp is an experience like no other in which young peoples’ lives and outlook can change forever. At camp, children get to try new experiences, make new friends, learn team and leadership skills which can benefit them throughout their lives.

This overnight camp for ages 7 – 15.

Moms and Kids Camp

An opportunity for moms and their young children to experience camp together. There is a variety of programs for moms while the kids are in their own program. Enjoy camp activities such as swimming, canoeing, rock climbing, worship, sessions and more at Jackson’s Point Camp.
